SUMMARY
AAA Electric is a smaller employer that has been traditionally self-funded for many years. We transitioned AAA into High Plains Health Plan in 2023, and we have continued to manage risk very efficiently.

Prior to converting over to HPHP, AAA Electric had been with the same TPA for a number of years, with little to no risk management strategy in place.

RESULTS
AAA Electric has just entered their fourth year with no premium increases for employees. We have implemented many point solutions for them, including international drug importation, which has had a very positive impact on their overall claim spend.

AAA Electric employees are also high utilizers of the Tier 1 Network of providers, where they are averaging a 74% discount vs. a 52% discount in the Tier 2 “wrap” network.

Because of their small size, single case management has proven to be very significant in the overall plan performance, so the High Plains Health Plan Concierge service is a vital part of their continued success.
